Mercantile Investments Joins Forces with Finance House Association Sri Lanka for Landmark CSR Tree Planting Project

On World Environment Day, June 5th, 2023, Finance Houses Association Sri Lanka, with the support of Mercantile Investments and Finance Plc and other member finance institutions, launched an ambitious tree planting project. With the goal of planting 500,000 trees across all provinces in Sri Lanka, this initiative signifies the collective commitment of the association and its members to combat climate change and protect the nation's natural resources. The launch event, held at Independence Square, was graced by esteemed guests, including the Chief Guest, Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and Mr. Ananda Seneviratne, the Chairman of Finance Houses Association Sri Lanka.

Finance Houses Association Sri Lanka, led by Chairman Mr. Ananda Seneviratne and supported by Mercantile Investments and Finance Plc and other member finance institutions, showcases the power of collaboration in environmental conservation. While the project aims to plant 500,000 trees in total, a remarkable record was set on June 5th by planting 261,000 trees. This milestone achievement signifies the dedication and effectiveness of Finance Houses Association Sri Lanka, Mercantile Investments and Finance Plc, and other member finance institutions in realizing their environmental goals. The tree planting activity spanned various provinces in Sri Lanka, including urban areas, rural communities, and forest reserves, enhancing the green cover and preserving biodiversity.
